About Me.

I’ve always believed that everyone has a calling, and mine is to help others live healthy, vibrant lives. My journey in healthcare began more than 20 years ago, first as a Registered Nurse, then as a Nurse Practitioner. I’ve always loved caring for people, but my perspective changed when I began facing my own health challenges that seemed to have no answers.

After years of searching and feeling frustrated, I was introduced to Functional Medicine and it completely transformed my life. For the first time, someone looked at the whole picture of my health instead of just treating symptoms. That experience inspired me to become certified in Functional Medicine, so I could offer the same kind of healing and understanding to others. It then allowed me to build a practice where I understand patients who have medical care in the traditional medicine model as well as the Functional Medicine model.  As  a Nurse Practitioner I assess patients, order labs and  diagnostic tests, and make medical  diagnosis. But, when it comes to treatment I use my skills in Functional Medicine to help my patients get better without relying on medications.

My approach is rooted in compassion and curiosity, taking the time to truly listen, look deeper, and uncover the “why” behind  symptoms. I work with many different types of patients, but my greatest passion is helping women who are struggling with stress and gut health issues. When we address these concerns, we set the foundation to then work on hormones, thyroid function, cardiovascular health, mood, energy and more. My goal is to help patients find lasting solutions and feel like themselves again, using Functional Medicine as a path toward real, sustainable wellness.

I obtained my  Masters Degree in Nursing from Northern Illinois University and am board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner.  I obtained my certification in Functional Medicine from Functional Medicine University.

I am a member of the Illinois Society of Advanced Practice Nurses, Sigma Global Nursing Excellence Society, Sugar Grove Chamber of Commerce and Batavia Chamber of Commerce . Spending time with my family, public speaking and writing books and theatrical pieces bring me great joy. In short I love creativity. I am the author of  The Adventures of Bugzy and Bugwy: Don’t Eat The Cookies which is the first in a series of  Children’s books.
